This comes very handy and lightweight, easy to carry around
This is a different kind of book. It is not a book per se because it doesn't go into details but I have traveled a lot, I found the Fodor's or Frommer's travel books good to read while you were at home only. They are too heavy to carry around. Remember the rulof traveling light?
I learned that after a few trips abroad. Once you are there, you do not have time to read it since it will waste your precious time in some foreign destination, you want to get out and enjoy the feel, the smell, the looks... of the places with all your senses. Like when I went to Japan, especially in Tokyo, people are everywhere bumping into you (it is more packed there than in Mahattan) and you carry the book and read? That's NOT the smartest thing to do. You got to see things happening there in your own eyes and have your own feelings, memory being there.

Anyway, I found this book handy and the maps are clearer, bigger than the other travel books on Vietnam at Borders bookstore. I got to compare them side by side and this is the best for me. I was in Vietnam 20 years ago so this serves like a Cliffnote sort of for me. If I got lost, I just look real quick at the book and it is light enough to actually easy to carry about town. I hope it helps!
