Elephant Racing Festival is the most interesting traditional festival in the central High Land in Vietnam. Elephant Racing Festival is taken place in March. Elephant Racing Festival is organized in Buon Don, Lam Dong Province in Vietnam. Elephant Racing Festival shows the tradition of fighting against enemy of minority people in Central High Land in Vietnam.  

Before the Elephant Racing Festival, elephants are taken to jungles where they can eat and rest to prepare for Elephant Racing Festival. Bananas, papaya, corn and sugar canes are also additional food for the elephants. To get the best conditions for the elephants in the race, those racing elephants do not have to do any hard work. On the main day of Elephant Racing Festival, the elephants will all come to Buon Don to take part in the racing competition in Elephant Racing Festival.  

The racing field in Elephant Racing Festival is the flat field with 35 meter wide, enough for ten elephants racing at one time. In the elephant race, there are two men sitting on the elephants to control. The man sits in front, holding the stick with sharp point, pock into the skin of the elephant to make it run faster. The man sits at the back uses the hammer to control the elephant run in the straight line. Local people wear their colourful traditional costumes to attend the Elephant Racing Festival. The winner elephants will be gifted with flowers, one big pig and 7 jars of wine. The attendances will offer the winner elephants with sugar canes. The people of the village which has the winner elephant will gather in the community house to organise the party with music, singing and dancing. The party goes through the night till the next morning. Elephant Racing Festival is one of the most exciting for local people as well as foreigner tourists in Vietnam to join.
