The Perfume Pagoda is a huge complex of Pagoda in Huong Son village in Ha Tay in Hanoi. There are more than 20 pagodas in Perfume Pagoda but travellers normally just visit Tring Pagoda, Thien Tru Pagoda, Giai Oan Pagoda and Huong Tich Cave. The Perfume Pagoda is magnificent and huge in size. Every year, millions of Vietnamese Buddhists come to perfume pagoda to show their respect to the Buddha and pray for their luck in the whole year. The festival of Perfume Pagoda takes 3 months from January to March. Perfume Pagoda is one of the most beautiful one in Vietnam. Perfume Pagoda is on the Limestone Mountains and offering great view of surrounding areas. It is said that the Huong Tich Cave in Perfume Pagoda was found out more than 2000 years ago and there was a small alter praying for Buddha from 1460-1497 and it is now the Thien Tru Pagoda. The Thien Tru Pagoda in Perfume Pagoda was built from 1680-1705 and most of other main pagodas in Perfume pagodas were built from 17 to 20 century. To visit Perfume Pagoda, travellers must travel by small rowing boats from Ben Yen, flowing Yen Stream to Thien Tru Pagoda in Perfume Pagoda. The first pagoda that travellers can visit while travelling to Perfume Pagoda is Trinh Pagoda. This is one of the main pagodas in Perfume Pagoda complex. When drop off the boat, travellers will follow the steps to Thien Tru Pagoda and walk up to Huong Tich Cave. Huong Tich Cave is the most holly place that any visitors should come and pray for their lucks. Huong Tich Cave in Perfume Pagoda is one of the beautiful limestone caves and Tring Sam Lord had named it as the most beautiful cave in the south (South of China). There is a huge alter praying for different gods and Buddha in Huong Tich Cave in Perfume Pagoda. The stalagmites and stalactites in Huong Tich Cave in Perfume Pagoda are fantastic. The local people name them as: The Mountain of the son, the mountain of daughter, golf tree, silver tree or mountain rice. Visitors to Perfume Pagoda have to take the boat depicturing from Ben Duc in Huong Son village in Perfume Pagoda to Ben Tro in Perfume Pagoda. Visitors can visit Chua Tring, Tring Pagoda. Tring Pagoda in Perfume Pagoda is on Ngu Nhac Mountain. Tring Pagoda means this is the place that Buddhists show themselves to the Buddha before coming to land of Buddhism in Perfume Pagoda. Thien Tru Pagoda in Perfume Pagoda is one of the biggest pagodas. Thien Tru means the kitchen of heaven. It is said that one time, the king let his troop stopped here and set up the kitchen and cooked the food for his solders that is why people get the name for this pagoda as Thien Tru Pagoda. When visiting Thien Tru Pagoda in Perfume Pagoda, visitors will see a great bell tower. The bell in Thien Tru Pagoda in Perfume Pagoda was made in 1793. The Thien Tru Pagoda in Perfume Pagoda was destroyed in 1947 and was rebuilt in 1986. Visitors to Perfume Pagoda have to walk from Ben Tro near Thien Tru Pagoda in Perfume Pagoda to Huong Tich Cave in Perfume Pagoda. It will take more than one hours to walk to Huong Tich Cave in Perfume Pagoda. The cable car system has finished 2 years ago and now visitors can get to Huong Tich Cave in Perfume Pagoda easily. From the cable cars, visitors to Perfume Pagoda can enjoy great views of surrounding areas and Rock Mountain in Perfume Pagoda. The most exciting and interesting when visiting Perfume Pagoda is the boat trip from Ben Duc to Ben Tro in Yen stream to visit Perfume Pagoda. The boat trip to Perfume Pagoda offer visitors peaceful atmosphere and wonderful view along the way to Perfume Pagoda. Visitors also can try rowing boats while travelling to Perfume Pagoda. Perfume Pagoda is the greatest complex of pagodas in Vietnam. |

Travellers can visit Perfume Pagoda all year around but try to avoid the festival time from January to March every year as it is too crowned it is hard to find the food and boats to Perfume Pagoda. |

Perfume Pagoda is about 70 km from Hanoi. The best way to get to Perfume Pagoda is by bus. Motobike is one of the ways to get to Perfume Pagoda but visitors need to start early and the traffic is quite busy. |
