Angkor Wat  is a temple complex at Angkor, Cambodia, built for the king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre since its foundation—first Hindu, dedicated to the god Vishnu, then Buddhist. The temple is the epitome of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors. 

Angkor Wat combines two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture: the temple mountain and the later galleried temple, based on early South Indian Hindu architecture, with key features such as the Jagati. It is designed to represent Mount Meru, home of the devas in Hindu mythology: within a moat and an outer wall 3.6 kilometres (2.2 mi) long are three rectangular galleries, each raised above the next. At the centre of the temple stands a quincunx of towers.

Unlike most Angkorian temples, Angkor Wat is oriented to the west; scholars are divided as to the significance of this. The temple is admired for the grandeur and harmony of the architecture, its extensive bas-reliefs and for the numerous devatas (guardian spirits) adorning its walls. 

The modern name, Angkor Wat, means "City Temple"; Angkor is a vernacular form of the word nokor which comes from the Urdu word nagara meaning capital. wat is the Khmer word for temple. Prior to this time the temple was known as Preah Pisnulok, after the posthumous title of its founder, Suryavarman II.

Day 1: Phnom Penh
Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to your hotel in Phnom Penh. Pre-trip meeting with your guide. Visit the Silver Pagoda, Royal Palace, National Museum and Independent Monument. Enjoy welcome dinner in a restaurant. Overnight in hotel in Phnom Penh.

Day 2: Siem Reap – Tonle Sap Cruise
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for morning flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, transfer to Tonle Sap Lake for cruising tour. Tonle Sap is also known as “Great Lake of Cambodia”, largest permanent fresh-water lake in South East Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. Enjoy a boat ride on the Tonle Sap Lake to visit fishing villages and experience local life of farmers living on Tonle Sap. In the afternoon, visit the Siem Reap Central Market and Silk Worm workshop. Transfer back to your hotel in Siem Reap. Overnight in hotel in Siem Reap. (Breakfast )

Day 3: Siem Reap – Angkor Wat
After breakfast, transfer to Angkor Wat. Visit of a selection of temples, including the Royal City of Preah Khan with impressive sculptures, Neak Pean built on a small circular island, Ta Som, East Mebon, Preah Rup. In the afternoon, we will continue our visits to Thommanon temple, Ta keo, one of Angkor's great mountains temple, Ta Prohm with a part of the jungle, Banteay Kdei, Srah Srang a Royal bathing place, Prasat Kravan with unique brick sculptures. Transfer back to your hotel. Enjoy farewell dinner. Overnight in hotel in Siem Reap. (Breakfast )

Day 4: Siem Reap – Banteay Srei Temple – Kobal Spien River
After breakfast, transfer to Banteay Srei. Banteay Srei is a 10th century Cambodian temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva located in the area of Angkor in Cambodia. Banteay Srei is built largely of red sandstone, a medium that lends itself to the elaborate decorative wall carvings which are still observable today. After visiting Banteay Srei, drive to Kbal Spean. Enjoy the walk though jungle to Kobal Spien, the “River of 1000 Lingas”, the symbol of the God Silva of Hinduism. It consists of a series of stone carvings in and around the Stung Kobal Spien river. Transfer back to Siem Reap. Enjoy farewell dinner. Overnight in hotel in Siem Reap. (Breakfast)

Day 5: Airport
Transfer to Siem Reap airport by road. Trip concludes. (Breakfast)
